 Interested
in stripping down to your bathing suit and getting breathless with
twenty other adults?  Come on, get in on all the fun, don't
hesitate!  Underwater hockey is a fast paced, non-contact
sport that can be enjoyed by everyone who loves the water! What The
Heck is Underwater Hockey? Underwater hockey is a very fast moving
game that quickly builds swimming and free diving capability. It is played on
the bottom of a swimming pool by two teams of six. Players wear fins, mask,
snorkel, and protective headgear. The stick is short, approximately 1 foot
long, the puck is heavy, around 3 lb., and the goal is 3 meters (9') long. The
rules are "non-contact" and players generally cover
"zones" around the puck. Success (scoring) ultimately depends on
teamwork, since no single person can hold his or her breath forever.
Individual strength is less of an advantage than it is in many other sports.
The water nullifies pure mass advantage and emphasizes clever use of torque. Our League This league is for
those of us who enjoy the water and want to improve free diving
and snorkeling skills with a splash of excitement.
Our underwater hockey league is designed foremost for FUN,
not serious competition!  Players will be divided up
into two separate groups, with an equal number of men & women
              on each team.  Each
team will play a 20-minute half (at apposing ends of the pool),
              with a 10-minute halftime. If
you are interested, please let us know.  If we have enough
people wanting to get wet and stay in shape, we'll schedule it!
